Daniela Giannetti

She is currently Associate Professor at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Bologna, where she teaches Comparative Analysis of Organisations. She graduated in Philosophy with a dissertation in Philosophy of Science on the comparative method in the social sciences. She completed a Doctorate in Political Science at the University of Florence (1987). She has been Research Associate at the Department of Political Science, Trinity College, Dublin (1998-1999) and Visiting Scholar at the University of Rochester, NY and at Washington University in St. Louis

Areas of interest:

Her methodological research interests include research methods for political analysis and computer based content analysis of political documents. Her substantive research interests include political institutions, party politics and coalition politics. This research is informed by rational choice approach. She translated into Italian and/or edited book of important authors in this field (Buchanan and Tullock, Riker, Ordeshook, Scharpf, Tsebelis). Her more recent work is in the field of environmental policy.
